Abstract

Due to the climate change that the world is going through today, which in turn led to a scarcity of arable water, and the continuous increase in the population in the world in general and in Egypt in particular, which led some countries in the world have resorted to desalination of seawater due to the high cost of desalination operations. Therefore, agricultural drainage water is one of the most common sources of reused water. However, the drainage water reuse program faces a significant hurdle of steadily increasing pollution loads in the drainage water as a result of the use of pesticides. Therefore, the prototype of this study consisting of three different advanced units (Ultrasonic, Magnetic and high-voltage) under three different power capabilities (50, 100 and 150 W) for the treatment of agricultural drainage water, Comparing them in terms of their effects on the chemical properties of water, such as hydrogen potential (pH), and total dissolved solids (TDS), represented by electrical conductivity (EC). The water treatment system has been constructed, and experiments are being conducted at the Tractors and Farm Machinery Research and Test Station in Alexandria Governorate between 2020 and 2023. The objectives of the current work can be summarized as follows: 1. Developing a system for treatment agricultural drainage water to
improve water quality. 2. Comparing the three methods magnetic, ultrasonic and high-voltage including the method efficiency on treated water, treated time and power consumption. 3. Determining the optimum conditions for performance enhancement of the developed treatment of agricultural drainage water system. 4. Performing a cost analysis for the developed system. 5. Studying the impact of treated water on plant cultivation under different mixed levels of water.
