Abstract

) from this study, it could be concluded that the most predictive factors of vasospasm and DCI are the following : - Hypertension, diabetes, smoking and dyslipidemia could be considered as risk factors for vasospasm. • Hypertension, diabetes and elevated triglycerides level could be considered as risk factors for developing DCI. • Lower GCS values are risk factor for vasospasm and delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI). • High Hunt and Hess scale grades could constitute a significant risk factor for DCI. • WFNS grade 3 could constitute a significant risk factor for vasospasm and DCI. • Increased size of bleeding aneurysm is significant risk factor for vasospasm. 2) It was found that day 7 was the peak for occurrence of vasospasm, followed by day 5. 3) According to comparison between vasospasm group and non-vasospasm group according to number of patients in relation to MFV of main cerebral arteries measured serially by TCD, significant values are present only at left MCA day 7 and left PCA day 7. The doppler findings that were significant correlated with vasospasm are only (left ACA on day 10, left MCA on day 7, right MCA on day 10, left PCA on day 3, 5 and 7 and right PCA on day 3 and 7 readings were significantly correlated).
