Abstract

Sixty random samples of raw milk were collected from different dairy farms and dairy shops in Sharkia Governorate, Egypt. A survey was conducted to determine the hygienic quality of the examined raw milk samples and public health hazard by applying bacteriological examination and antibiotic resistance of S. aureus to different antibiotics.
Staphylococcus spp. was detected in all dairy farms and dairy shops raw milk samples with a mean values of 4.92×104 ± 0.62 ×104 cfu/ ml and 7.41×104 ± 0.47×104 cfu/ml, respectively.
S.aureus, S. epidermidis and S. Saprophyticus were isolated from dairy farms raw milk samples with percentages of 53.33%, 30.00% and 16.67%, respectively. While the same strains were isolated from dairy shops raw milk samples in percentages of 60%, 26.67% and13.33%, respectively. Thirty seven S. aureus isolates were identified phenotypically. By comparable of bacterial identification using MALDI-TOF MS. (Vitek MS) and the traditional method applied for the same S.aureus strains (5 isolates each of dairy farms and dairy shops raw milk samples ). It was.
