Abstract

• Larger population studies have to be made to assess the national prevalence of the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in Egypt.
• Ultrasound examination is a good diagnostic tool in PCO, but not enough to diagnose the syndrome. not all PCO patient has PCOS.
• Cases with PCOS are advised to measure insulin resistance, so as to avoid future risk of diabetes millets
• PCOS should be kept in mind when treating hirsute patients.
• Diagnosis of PCOS became simpler after Rotterdam 2003 and no need for sophisticated investigations.
BMI should be measured in all cases of PCO patients , and the patients should be advised against obesity
