Abstract
In Chapter I, an introduction is given which deals with the following fields of
interest.
(1) Electrochemical Nature of Aqueous Corrosion. (2) Application of thermodynamics
to corrosion.
(i) corrosion tendency and electrode potentials. (ii) potential - pH diagrams.
(3) Application of electrode kinetics to corrosion.

(4) The electrochemical behaviour of iron in deaerated acid media.

(7) Types of inhibitors.
(8) The limitations of using inhibitors.
(9) Application of inhibitors for acid media.
(10) Literature survey ’:l~ the inhibition of the acid Corrosion of steel by
sulphur - containing organic inhibitors.
