Abstract The present study was carried out to determine the distribution, bionomics and susceptibility status of the common culicine mosquito larvae to some insecti cides in Ain-Ghosin village Ismailia Governorate~ Also, the study aimed to find the relationship between some ecological factors[physical and chemical character istics of the water habitatsl and the density of mosquito larvae. Results obtained can be summarized as follows: The study ,area . The village of Ain-Ghosin is located about 10 Km south of Ismailia City, it consists of 136 houses with a population of about 1000 in~abitats. The temper ature conditions in the area of study ranged between (5 -35°C] during the period of study. Whilthe average ”relative humidity ranged between 43 and 90.2 t. Survey of the natural m05quito breeding places, showed that the drainage channels, cesspools and seepage water were the common breeding places, where the first was the most common habitats. Data concerning the species composition of the collected larvae and adult mosquitoes, revealed 5 culicine and 2 anopheline species. These species were Cx.pipiens, Cx.antennatus, Cx.univitatus, Cs.)on~iareolate An.pharoensis. The first three culicine species constituted 98 of the total collected mosquito larvae. |
