Abstract

Pulmonary vascular resistance is an important variable in deciding the surgical outcome of patients with congenital heart disease. The current standard for measuring PVR is by invasive measurement of flow and pressure in the pulmonary arteries by cardiac catheterization. Echocardiography measurement of PVR is PVR is our aim in this study, By using the ration between maximum tricuspid regurgitation velocity’ and velocity time integral of pulmonary artery to calculate PVR by echo Doppler. In the current study 20 patients with congenital anomalies were studied complete clinical examination, full laboratory investigation, basal, sequential echocardiography were done to the patients. All patients underwent Cardiac Catheterization 10 calculate PVR.
