Abstract School children from two different communities in audi Arabia, Riyadh province and a rural area namely iriyah a’out 20 km. from Riyadh were selected. A total of two thousand one hundred and one male and feiDa1e pupils randomly selected from thirteen schools, nine in Riyadh province and four in Diriyah, were examined. In ch of the above communities, examinations were carried out in children from first class to sixth class. The age ranged fron 6—12 years. The pupils were examined for the following ; 1— To estimate dental caries using d f t index for deciduous teeth and D N F T index for permanent teeth. (Klein et at, 1938). Periodontal condition was estimated using P N A inex (Schour and Nassler, 1947), oral hygiene was evalu ted according to the simplified oral hygience index (OHI) S (Green and Vermillion, 1964) and fluorosis was estirnted using the dental fluorosis index (Dean,1934). Other dental observations have made among primary school children in two different communities CRiyadh and D.riyah). 2— To corrtate the pattern of dental disease in these two communities. 3— To investigate the dental needs among primary school children in the communities. 4— To maice proposals for dental health program tailored to the needs of these two communities. |
