Abstract

The aim of this thesis being to enlarge and protect the range of freedom for the sake
of a more efficient creativity in the contemporary expressions during the last forty
years, thus enabling us to trace some potential directions of implementation in the
next decade.
The identification of new ways, new methodologies, new conception, new tools, to
provide for an enabling culture and thought that would stop the rapture with the
classical legacy, would help to recognize the living tradition, and, at the same time,
would contribute to the invention of modernity in Muslim societies.
This research comes in an introduction, five chapters and a number of conclusions and
recommendations.
Chapter 1: Includes a general introduction, explaining the aims, objectives,
constraints, as well as the research methodology and An Introduction to the
Architectural Trends of the Twentieth Century.
Chapter 2: Based on the Impacts of economic, political and social conditions on the
Islamic ways of thinking developed today which makes Islamic thought has not yet
benefited enough from all the new trends that have been appeared in these new
technologies that have been appeared in these sciences developed in the west.
Chapter 3: Analytical study of the Architectural Development and Regional diversity
of the Mosque architecture in the second half of the twentieth century in Saudi
Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, Iran, Southeast Asia, the Sub-Saharan West Africa
and the west. The purpose of this focus will be to demonstrate the technical
efficiency, environmental sensitivity and historical appropriateness in these
innovative solutions in analytical detail.
