Abstract
The use of indirect technique for fabricating cast restorations has been largely impr’öved since the introduction of elastomers as an impression material in the dental field. With respect to their elastisty, and acouraóy, they are superior to the previously used impression materials. They are capable of producing an impression with fine details of the prepared cavities, and relativy stable. Several die materials are supposed to be used without reacting with these impression materia The most commonly used are: dental stone (for its .imenstönal aocu.racy, arid details reprodicibility), and silver—plated dies (f or the previous reasons in addition to their high abrasion resistance).
This work was conducted to investigate the accuracy of silicone and thiolcol impression materials together with stone and. silver—plated dies produced from them, by evaluating the fitness of M.O.D. inlays produced from different combinationof these materials and. compared them with those obtained from the original models used to get the impression.
