Abstract The liver is the major site for synthesis of almost all factors involved in coagulation and fibrinolysis, also, it plays a role in the, clearance of activated and degraded clotting factors from the circulation. Thus, abnormal haemostasis is common in patients with liver diseases. This research, study the disseminated intravascular coagulation in patients with liver cirrhosis, bleeders and non-bleeders in Menoufiya Govern orate. In this study, 50 patients with liver cirrhosis, were classified into 25 with gastrointestinal haemorrhage, 25 without gastrointestinal haemorrhage and 15 controls. The patient group were selected from inpatient of Internal Medicine Department, Liver Institute, Menoufiya University. To all subjects the following investigations were performed • Complete physical examination. • Liver function tests |
