Abstract The tissue type plasminogen activator is a naturally occurring protein that converted the inactive proenzyrne plasminogen into the active serine protease plasmin. It is released into the circulation by endothelial cells as free tissue type plasminogen activator, but it is stored in the plasma by forming circulating complexes with the inhibitor of the first component of complement Ci The present study aimed to estimation of tissue plasminogen activator activity in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AM I) and to correlate its level with lipid profile in these patients. This work was conducted on 60 subject ; 30 patients suffering from AMI were selected from the intensive care of SHEBIN EL -KOM Educational hospital and 30 normal subject were selected as a control group. We estimated cardiac enzymes (CK, LDH and AST), lipid profile (total cholesterol, triglyceride, l-IDL-c, LDL-c and VLDL-c ) and tissue plasminogen activator in patient and control groups. The obtained results show: * Highly significant increase of total choleserol in patients’ group when compared with controls’ group. |
