Abstract This study was designed to evaluate the renal vascular ______ resistance in patients with essential hypertension by measuring renal interlohar artery resistance (RI) and to correlate RI with the presence of early hypertensive end organ damage, namely microalbuminuria, hypertensive retinopathy and left ventricular hypertrophy. The study included 20 patients with essential hypertension. They had no diabetes mellitus, renal and br hepatic diseases, chronic heart failure (class III and IV - NYIIA “New York Heart Association”), severe obesity, malignancy, inability to cooperate and causes of secondary hypertension. It also included 10 healthy subjects served as controls. Full clinical history and complete physical examination including BMI were done to all su1jects. |
