Abstract Fifty peptic ulcer patients were devided into two groups according to endoscopic diagnosis; gastric ulcer group (32 patients) and duodenal ulcer group (18 patients). Serum immunolgobulin GCIgG) antibodies against Helicobacter Pylon CH.Pyiori) infections were estimated using a qualitative ELISA technique before and 3 months after medical or surgical treatment. The statistically analyzed obtained results showed the presence of IgG antibodies against H.Pylori in 94°% of both gastric and duodenal ulcer groups before treatment. On the other hand, IgG antibodies were detected in 5O3’ & 31°% in gastric and duodenal ulcer groups respectively after treatment. In gastric ulcer group, 67% of’ surgically treated patients showed negative IgG antibodies against H. Pylon, while 46°/o of medically treated patients had negative IgG antibodies. Lastly, 1OO% of surgically treated duodenal ulcer patients showed negative IgG antibodies aganist H. Pylon, while 44 of medically treated duodenal ulcer patients showed negative IgG antibodies.. There was a significant difference between surgically and medically treated duodenal ulcer patient groups regarding positivity and negativity of IgG antibodies against H. Pylon. |
