Abstract 672in tnis study a two-dimensional finite element analysis was performed to evaluate the stresses transmitted by mandibular subperiosteal complete dentures to each of four different designs of subperiosteal implants namely the four posts design, the mesostructure bar design, the continuous bar design, and the two posts design.A fourty pounds uniform vertical load was applied on the ocelusal surfaces and incisal edges of all the teeth. The resultant stresses were studied and evaluated. The findings and conclusions can be summerized as follows 1. Stresses were concentrated at the areas of the implant posts and the mandibular surrounding bone.2. Stresses within the medial post and its surrounding bone were higher than the stresses within the lateral post and its surroudning bone. |
