Abstract
Atherosclerosis is a thickening or hardening of arteries .
Atherosclerosis is a progressive disease of the large arteries that involves the gradual accumulation of lipids, inflammatory cells, and fibrous elements in plaques in the vessel walls.
Several investigation as well as prospective studies have shown a significant correlation between glucose metabolism and atherosclerosis in patients without diabetes.
Also this work deails to investigate glucose metabolism in coronary artery disease patients with normal blood glucose level to determine the relationship between glucose metabolic factors and extent of atherosclerosis. Factors and post prandial blood insulin, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c%), and lipids,as well as insulin resistance .
