Abstract
The present study was carried out primarily to evaluate the ixicological effects of the organophosphorus insecticide ”cyanophos fter administration of variable toxic doses given once and after giving)w dose repeatedly.
he study included the following:
Effect of variable oral doses i.e. LDso Va LDao and ^lo LDso given nee.
Effect of repeated low dose ^/m LDso given for 3 consecutive days).
he evaluation included both clinical manifestations and level of hohnesterase enzyme inhibition in serum and organs (liver, heart and train).
Effect of time on recovery after giving repeated low dose.
[he study was carried out on 70 male albino rats, which were divided into i groups: 1,11, III, IV and V The first group (group I) was given normal saline (the vehicle) and I served as a control group for comparison with other groups.
| Groups II, III and IV were given single oral doses equivalent to LDso Y2LD50 and l lo LDso respectively.
Animals of group V were divided into 3 equal subgroups (a, b and c)and were exposed to repeated low dose of cyanophosicLDso for 3 consecutive days.
