Abstract Chronic liver diseases is a worl wide health problem of which viral hepatitis competes with schistosomiasis as a leading cause of this disease in the middle east .hepatosplenic schistosomiasis is endemic in africa, asia and south america and is a serious diseases in egypt causing high national economic loss due to its morbidity anf mortality .this study was conducted on 62 patients from national liver institue, suffering from chronic liver disease caused by viral hepatitis with or witout schistosomiasis, as well as a control or references group of 25 age and sex matched apparently healthy adult indivaduals.according to modified child classification, cirrhotic patients were categorized into:12 patients child a:11 patients child b: 18 patients child c . |
