Abstract

Carbary1 is the most common derivative of N.methy1 carbamate used for insecticidal application due to its low mammalian toxicity. It is radily absorbed via skin, GIT and respiratory tract and is metabolized in the liver mainly through hydrolysis by the mixed function oxidase enzyme. This is followed by the kidney. Carbary1 cause poisoning by powerful inhibition of the true and pseudocholinesterase which is reversible . resulting in excess accumulation of acetylcholine at the synapses . this over-abundance initially stimulate and then subsequenently paralyzes cholinergic synaptic transmission in the C.N.S, somatic nerves, autonomic ganglia, parasympathetic nerve endings and some sympathetic nerve endings e.g sweat glands .
