Abstract

A total number of 120 (50 ± 2 g B.Wt) Oreochromis niloticus, Carp, Catfish and mugil cephal us were collected’ a live from Fish Farms at Behera and farms at Kafr Sheikh and Alexandria Provinces, only 39 fish displayed the clinical signs of diseases and biochemical characters of the Enterobactereacea. In addition, a total of .70 Oreochromis niloticus were used for experimental infection and measuring the antibody titer. The following points are summarized:- The most clinical .signs and gross lesions of Oreochromis n ilo tic us naturally affected - with Enterobactereacea were typified by:- loss of scales’ from some areas of the skin, petechial . hemorrhages over the dorsal musculature. Large necrotic lesions extending allover the body Skin showed superficial ulcers, especially at the caudal peduncle. The reflexes of fish, especially the escape and defensive reflexes were weak or absent. Internally there is generalized septicemia in most internal organs especially kidney, liver, intestinal tract, spleen.” While incase of experimental Infectio’n:-Reddening of the mouth and darkening of the head region ., Con-gestion of all body surface and loss of scales with eye cataracta Skin showed abnormal dark color, with slight exophthalmia and eye cataract: -Internally there is congestion in most internal organs. Enterobactereacea was isolated from (liver, kidneys , spleen , intestine and muscles) of (O.niloticus, common carp, catfish and mugil cephalus) at a percentages of(34, 24 , 50 and 20 %) , respectively. Eaarda and Yersinia was isolated also from (liver, kidney, spleen, . intestine and muscles of o. niloticus by experimental infection at a percentage of (50, O. 30, 40 and 20 %) and ( 30, 30, 30, 40, 0%) , respectively Concerning the 111Orpltoiogical and biochemical characters Edwardsiella tarda:- Gram -ve, catalase +ve, Oxidase -ve. Indole +ve, Methyle red test +ve, Voges proskauer reaction -ve , Citrate -ve, Ureas -yeo EdwardsiellaIctaluri:- Gram -:ve, catalase +ve, Oxidase -ve, Indole -ve, Methyle red test +ve, Voges proskauer reaction -ve , Citrate -ve, Ureas -yeo Yersinia ruckeri:-Gram -ve, catalase +ve, Oxidase -ve, Indole -ve, Methyle red test --ve, Voges proskauer reaction -ve , Citrate +ve, Ureas -ve. Proteus rettgeri:-Gram -ve, catalase +ve, Oxidase -ve, Indole+ve, Methyle red test +ve, Voges proskauer reaction -ve , Citrate +ve, Ureas +ve. Trails for isolation of y. ruckeri (Enterobuctereacea) from different organs were made and we successfully isolate. 13 strains grow on specific media (Shotts-Waltman Medium) with yellow colonies,
