Abstract In this thesis the problems of computer-aided design (CAD) of control systems and simulation of real system are attacked. CAD tool that enables the user to plan and to design different control strategies are developed. The internal design of the tool is based on object oriented programming, with large predefined libraries of custornizable components. The system allows user to extend the libraries by building special components for specific problems . Artificial Intelligent (AI) techniques, which are used to efficiently solve many control system problems, are included in this tools. Those Al techniques are Fuzzy Logic, Artificial Neural Network, and Genetic Algorithm. Also a set of ordinary search and optimization techniques are added.A novel generalized simulation technique is proposed. The new technique supports both continuous-time and even-driven simulation types. The simulation technique is integrated within the CAD tool. The simulation technique was successfully used to represent several simulation languages like GPSS, Petri/Net, and input/output block diagram. The overall package has been used to design and to simulate different systems and to provide control for some of them, the results compared to practical results |
