Abstract The present study deals with the following main topics : I. Isolation of bacteria and screening them for antagonistic activity against the tested fungi : 1- One hundred bacterial isolates were isolated from different soils and were screened for their antagonistic activity against the tested human-and plant pathogenic fungi. 2- Out of these 100 isolates, only 20 isolates showed antagonistic activities against all or some of the tested fungi and of these, three isolates were found to have the most potent and remarkable antagonistic activities against the tested fungi and were selected for further work. II. Identification of the bacterial isolates: 1- The twenty bacterial isolates were identified to the genus level and were assigned to the genus Bacillus. 2- The three selected isolates were further identified to the species level as Tsukamurella inchronensis, Cellulosimycorbium cellulans and Corynebacterium nitrilophilus. |
