Abstract Exposure to EMFs is not a new phenomenon. However, during the 20th century, environmental exposure to man-made EMF has been steadily increasing. The use of cellular phones which emit EMR has increased rapidly during the late 1990s and it’s estimated that the number of subscribers would be 3 billions by the end of 2010. This situation had aroused the concerns about cellular phone safety. Although much research doesn’t suggest that exposure to RF fields at levels encountered in the environment can cause detrimental effects in the short term use, yet some researches suggest adverse effects after many years of cellular phone use e.g. acoustic neuroma and other brain tumours. |
