Abstract The aim of our study is to find the prevelance of hyponatremia in the setting of acute phase of anterior S-T elevation myocardial infarction and its impact on the short term morbidity and mortality among these patients. Our study included 50 patients with acute anterior S-T elevation myocardial infarction,were the diagnosis was done following the diagnostic criteria (including chest pain,ECG changes, cardiac enzymes),they were 38 males(76%),12 females (24%). 31 (62%) were smokers, 42 (84%) of them had hypertension, 26 (52%) of them had Non Insulin Dependent DM, 15 (30%) of them had a family history of coronary artery disease, 25 (50%) had dyslipidemia,while 20 patients (40%) were using diuretics. |
