Abstract The study was performed on forty five patients suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus and nineteen apparently healthy persons as a control group. These patients were subgrouped into: Group A: Patients in remission disease state (17 cases). Group B: Patients in activity disease state (28 cases). Complete clinical examination and the following investigations were done. A. Routine investigations: 1- Peripheral hemogram and erythrocytic sedimentation rate. 2- Kidney function tests & complete urine analysis. 3- Liver function tests. B. Special investigations: 1- Antinuclear antibodies: a- Latex agglutination. b- Immunofluorescence. 2- Anti double stranded DNA 3- C - reactive protein. 4- Complement components: a- Complement - 3 (C3). b- Complement - 4 (C4). |
