Abstract

The aim of this study is to give information of origin, classification, and evaluation of Wadi El-Hawashia soils. Twenty soil profiles were selected to represent the geomorphic units that had been recognized the study area, namely, the structural plateau, the elevated structural plain, the structural ridge, the low structural plain and the coastal plain. The obtained data showed that the soils texture is mainly coarse sand with different percentage of gravel content either in vertical or in lateral directions. Furthermore, the studied soils have very low values of the field capacity, the wilting point and the available water. Moreover, the studied soils had different values of salinity, gypsum content, pH and lime content.
