Abstract Allergic diseases such as asthma, food allergy, atopic dermatitis, and allergic rhinitis are common illnesses that have been increasing in prevalence during the past 30 years. Changes in the patterns of acquisition and distribution of allergic diseases over the past decade are documented. The allergic diseases are on the rise and the number of triggers is growing. Treatment protocols are also getting advanced and need to be evaluated (Kay, 2001). The study aims at evaluation of the profile and management outcome of allergic children at the Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Unit of Ain Shams University, Children’s Hospital. This is sought for through assessment of the demographic data of the patients, course and sequelae of illness, and efficacy of the various therapeutic strategies adopted. We were also trying to establish a proper database for the patients in the Paediatric Allergy and Immunology Clinic. |
