Abstract
Lubricating oil additives are chemical compounds added to the base oils to impart specific properties to the finished oils. Some additives impart new and useful properties to lubricants and others enhance properties already present. With respect to many applications of lubricating oils, particularly their use as lubricating oils in the internal combustion engines.
