Abstract
The study area South Gabal Kamel. lies in the extreme southwest corner of the Egyptian Western Desert. It is bounded by latitudes 25o 6’ and 26022’and 26o40’E.The amphibolites are the oldest rock type. petrographic studies enabled the classification of the amphibolites into :pyroxene hornblende amphibolite, biotite hornblende amphibolite and hornbended amphibolite.Geochemically , they are ortho-amphibolite, have sub-alkaline tholeiitic nature and developed in continetal environments.
