Abstract This investigation aims to study the complete life cycle of the reniform nematode, rotylenchulus reniformis and that of the citrus nematode tylenchulus semipenetrans from egg to egg on grape roots. All experiments are carried out in loamy sand soil where populations are higher than those in sandy clay loam soil. Interaction of r.reniformis and t.semipenetrans on grape roots is also investigated. Generally, both nematodes are semiendoparasites, lay their eggs in gelatinous matrices on root surface. Histological changes in grape roots induced by feeding of r.reniformis and t.semipenetrans are also studied. |
