المستخلص Variational methods in magnetic fields are rexamined and the difficulties in its formulation and application to different types of solids are sorted out. It has been shown that two different lines should be adapted, the first dealing with non spherical expansions of the trail functions, i.e. trails. to deviate from the usual quasi-free electron model which has proved to be inadequate for discussion of thermomagnetic and golvanomagnetic effects. The second line is to adopt modern analysis and use two different complex distribution functions f and its complex conjugate f’ Through this study, a new variational method for solution of Boltzman equations in the presence of magnetic fields is given and also the final formulae for magneto resistance effect are given. |
