Abstract

The Effect Of Four Important Factors Namely: Temperature/Humidity, Cultivars, Locations And Periods Of Storage On Germination Potential Characters Of Both Soybean (Oily Seeds) And Wheat (Starchy Seeds) Is Investigated Using Variance And Regression Analysis. Cermination Potential Is Studied Via 8 Characters, Which Are Germination Percentage, Plumule Length, Radical Length, Fresh Weight, Dry Weight. Total Oil, Total Soluble Sugars And Total Protein. Their Performance Under The Studied Factors Is Nearly The Same. It Is Also Interesting To Note That There Are No Great Differences Between Soybean And Wheat With Regard To The Effect Of The In Vestigated Treatments On Germination.Storage Periods And Temperature/Humidity Are The Most Important Factors Of Germi-Nation.For Soybean The Better Germinationis In The Earlier Two Periods. For Wheat, Good Germination Stands Up To The Fourth Period. The Inverse Linear Relationship Between Periods Of Storage And Germination Is Observed Clearly For Both Soybean And Heat.The Lower Level Of Temperature Humidity Is Also Favourable For Germina-Tion For Both Soybean And Wheat. Three Factors Prediction Equations For Germination Potential Are Calculated. However, One Factor Equation Including Just Storage Periods Is Also Calculated.
