Abstract
The data used in this study were collected from the herd of mehallet mousa experimental station which belongs to the animal production research institute.
Ministry of agriculture and land reclamation.
This study was undertaken to test different recording schemes for estimating total milk yield, genetic parameters and breeding values in buffaloes.
The data included 5207 milk records for 1421 buffaloes sired by 123 bulls.
Total milk yield (TMY) was estimated once monthly, once bimonthly and once trimonthly.
