Abstract This in vitro study aimed to evaluate the shear bond strength and mode of the bond failure patterns in the tested groups of lightfheat curing optimized polymer (TARGIS), low fusing ceramic (DUCERAM) and pressure/heat curing indirect composite resin (Isosit) bonded to dentine with two new adhesive systems (3M single bond and prime and etch). Ninety sound human lower first molars of the same size and shape were stored in 1% chloramine T solution until the time of testing. The teeth were divided randomly into three equal groups according to restorative material used: Group 1: Targis specimens on dentine surface. Group II: Duceram specimens on dentine surface. Group Ill: Isosit specimens on dentine surface. Each group was divided into three subgroups according to the adhesive system used. Subgroup A: using 3M single bond as bonding agent. Subgroup B: using prime and etch as bonding agent. Subgroup C: control group with no bonding agent. |
