Abstract Cotton (Gossypium barbadense L.) is. one of the most important commercial crops playing a key role in economic and social affairs in Egypt. It is affected by various diseases. Damping off and root-rot are the most important diseases affecting cotton (Ismail and Ahmed 2000). Rhizoctonia solani (cuasing damping off) is one of the most important soil- borne pathogenic organisms distributed all over the world. It has considerable economic importance for its wide rang of hosts (Fehrmann 1976). R. Solani, Macrophomina phaseolina and Fusarium oxysporum. f. sp. vasinfectum are the causal pathogens of root-rot and wilt diseases of cotton (Hoda et al. 2000). |
