Abstract Catheter ablation using radiofrequency current is the treatment of choice for patient suffering from tachyarrhythmias mediated by an AP. Although radiofrequency catheter ablation is highly effective in eliminating accessory pathways and PSVT, it is associated with recurrence of accessory pathway conduction and therefore PSVT in a small proportion of patients. Short term recurrence of accessory pathway conduction can be predicted by anatomic location of accessory pathways and ventriculo-atrial conduction properties after apparently successful ablation. |
