Abstract

Pliytophagous mites are potentially a major pest of the main food, fiber and ornamental crops.Tliis potential for damage has become increasingly evident during tlie last few decades. Spider mites may cause several damage which results in very heavy losses in such crops as citnls, beans, cotton, apples and many other horticultural and onlamental crops. It is known that spider mites do not commonly cause widespread damage in agroecosystems where productivity is below its potential, regulatory factors such as diseases and predators control the spider mite population.Wliile in agroecosystems where production levels are high broad-spectnm pesticides are usually used.Tlie pesticides have a more adverse effect on the predators rather than on the spider mites tliemselves thus enabling an outbreak of the later. Low levels of pesticides which do not cause mortality can influence tlie success of a predator as a result of behavioural modification.Uses of microbial pesticides can be afford a good control for spider mites and avoid adeverse effects on predatory mites, so tlie present study was directed to investigate,: 1-The toxic effect of tested pesticides against the eggs and adult females of the two-spotted spider mite T. urticne. 2-The toxic effect of tested pesticides against adult females of predatory mite A. gossipi. 3-The side effect of sublethal doses of tested pesticides on some biological aspects of spider mite 7’.urticae and its predatory mite SUMMARY A.go.csipi ,fecundity and hatchability of eggs for prey aiid the feeding behavior aiid fecundity for predator. 4-The fungicidal activity of tested pesticides on A.solani that cause early blight disease to many crops and sometimes was found associated with T. uriicae. This would lead us to pick tlie pesticides which could be used for control spider mite, and associated fimgi also, and of less effect to predatory mites. So we can decrease pesticides liazardous by using certain pesticides effective to more than one pest in the same time less effective to natural eniinies. The thesis is divided into four main chapters, the first is divided to tlie introduction and historic review wliicli is up-to-date literature survey on toxiciy of different recent pesticides to tlie red spider mite and its predatory mite , and the side effects of these chemicals on some biological aspects of these mites.ln addition research work puplislied on the fiingicidal and acaricidal activity of pesticides konwn to be acaricides or fungicides respective1 y .The second discribes in details tlie materials and methods used in the experimental work of the thesis.Tlie third one includes tlie experimental work presented and described.Sixteen tables and 2 1 figures are included to illustrate tlie data, tlie statistical analysis of the data was calculated and presented.Tlie discussion of tlie findings is also ilicluded. The results achieved in this study can be summarized in the following findings.
