Abstract Endoscopic CO-, laser is an effective and precise instrument for removal of laryngeal scar tissue with especially excellant results in anterior glottic lesions. This high success rate with this technique justify this approach as an initial therapeutic modality and if persistent stenosis occurs or recurs open surgery is advised also circumferenital scaring, wide scars with avertical depth of 1cm or more and arytenoid fixation are associated with a high degree of failure . Although the CO2 laser is an effective and precise instrument for removal of laryngeal scar tissue, additional methods to prevent recurence must be developed . Endoscopic laser arytenoidectomy appears to have a role in managment of Bilateral vocal cord paralysis particulary in patient with marginal airway and no tracheotmy. It is considered to be simple quick , cheap and effective methods for enhancing glottic air flow apparently with little diminuation of vocal quality . |
