Abstract

1- During the present work, the author found the following:
1-Trematoda:
1-Ten digenetic trematodes were found, four from which were new species namely; Synodontiella Synodoni, Pristotrema clarii, Plagioporus anguillus and Allocreadium bynni, and one in determined; Emoleptalea sp.
2-Five new hosts were described:
Bagrus degeni (a new host) for Acanthostomum absconditum and A. spiniceps; chrysichthys auratus (a new host) for Hoplorchoides cahirinus; Synodontis schall (a new host) for synodontiella synodonti and Emoletalea sp.;
Clarias Lazera (a new host) for Pristotrema clarii; Anguilla Vulgaris (a new host) for Plagioporus anguillus, and Barbus bynni (a new host) for Allocreadium bynni.
2-Cestoda:
1-Four species were studied one of which is found to be new; Bothriocephalus barbus.
2-Barbus bynni (a new host) for Bothriocephalus barbus: Synodontis schall (a new host) for Ophiotaenia fragilis.
3-Nematoda:
1-Seven species were found, one of which is found to be new; Philometroides hydrocyonae, and four undetermined species namely Dicheyne sp.;
Cucullanus sp.; Rhabdochona sp. And Paracamallanus sp.
2-Synodontis schall (a new host) for Cithariniella citharini.
4-Myxosporidia:
1-Ten new species of Myxosporidia were described there are: Myxobolus niloticus, M. Labeous, M. assiuti, M. barbi, Unicauda nilotica; Myxosoma bynni, M. barbi, M. hydrocyoni, M. nilotica, Myxidium niloticum and in determined species Coccomyxa sp.
2-Labeo niloticus, Barbus bynni, and Hydrocyon forskalii (new hosts) for the new Myxosporidian species.
3-The histology and histochemical studies were described in the present work, for the first time.
5-Experimental work:
Pieces of muscles from superficial layer of different fishes were examined to detect any metacercaria.
These infected parts were fed to parasites free puppies or Kittens to determine the adult trematode parasites.
It was observed that Mormyrus Kannume, Schilbe mystis, Clarias Lazera, Hydrocyon forskalil and Alestes nurse act as new second in termediate hosts for Prohemistomum vivax.
