Twenty women who met the study criteria were identified. Mean age was 43.3 years (range, 25-61 years), no one had prior anti-incontinence procedures.
Urodynamic studies have an important role in detection of cases with neurogenic bladder or those have motor detrusor instability. Both groups were excluded in this study. Also, postoperative detrusor instability can be used in the follow-up of cases particularly those with voiding difficulty.
Under spinal or epidural anesthesia, anterior vaginal wall is opened1.5-cm vertical at midurethera . Polypropylene band is cut from a traditional mesh to form a sling.. Two prolene sutures are placed in a helical manner at the both edges of the of the prolene mesh. The sling is put at the mid urethra with Raz needle, by which the sutures of the sling are picked-up to the small bilateral suprapubic incisions. Cystoscopy is performed to rule out bladder injury. Concomitant cystocele repairs are performed when indicated. Intraoperative bleeding was not reported in any cases (0%), bladder perforation in two case (10%). The mean operative time was 45 minutes.
