Abstract The exact etiopathology through which varicocele affects negatively the seminogram and fertility potential is exactly unknown up till now. The results of the studies in this regard are mostly controversial Varicocle is known to cause venous stagnation, tissue hypoxia and increases ROS release. This in consequence may affect the testicular tissue structure and function Electron microscopic studies of the blood-testis barrier (mainly Sertoli-Sertoli cell junctional complex) in varicocele patients proved it’s disruption. The latter in consequence may predispose to the formation of ASA in varicocele patients, these ASA is proved to be formed may ply a role in the etiopathology through which varicocele affects the seminogram and the fertility potential Reviewing the literature in this regard, very scant studies were found with controversial results. This study aimed bu this work ti investigate the formation and the presence of ASA in varicocele patients and to correlate this – if any-to the changes in seminogram in such patients |
