Abstract
Burn is one the major causes of disability an death both in envelope and developing countries. Great advance has been achieved in the last decades, thus increasing the survival rate patients with extensive burns. In patients with extensive deep burns, the most important thing is to cover the extensive row area rapidly to decrease pain, decrease protein loss, reduce evaporative water and heat loss from the wound surface and prevent infection thus enhancing the chance of patients survival. In the present study, human amniotic membrane was used as a cover for microskin grafts and was compared to conventional dressing on control wounds to evaluate the effect of human amnion on the take of microskin grafts, the rate of epithelialization and was compared to conventional dressing on control wounds to evaluate the effect of human amnion on the take of microskin grafts, the rate epitheliazation and protection against infection. Twenty young adult patients, with extensive deep burns constituted the material of this study.
