Abstract
Saving time, money & effort while getting the required quality has been a great problem in construction projects especially large scale ones such as urban projects. This is achieved through applying an accurate quality management system though the project different stages.
The research mainly studies the management role in the construction projects as a quality insurance procedure, planning, organizing, directing and controlling project different disciplines, stages and tasks.
The research studies the effect of applying the project management scientific procedures, knowledge and techniques on the efficiency level of the product acquired at the end the design and construction stages of the urban project.
The research depend mainly on a scientific theoretical analysis of the urban project stages, especially the design and construction phases, beside the management role during these phases to reach to a sort of link between technical and managerial processes during these two stages.
A methodology chart was developed by the researcher, linking all technical and management tasks involved in the design and construction stages in accordance with the roles and responsibilities chart linking project team members’ role with each task
