Abstract Urinary incontinence is defined as an involuntary loss of urine which is a social or hygienic problem, and is objectively demonstrable. Stress incontinence is the most common form of urinary incontinence. Stress urinary incontinence is most recently defined by the International Continence Society as the complaint of involuntary leakage of urine during sudden increase in intra-abdominal pressure. Treatment options range from conservative methods to surgical method. Over 200 procedures designed to cure urinary incontinence have been described, testifying to the dissatisfaction among surgeons with their surgical armamentarium. |
