Abstract
The present investigation deals with deals with the study of the effect of pollution by drainage , industrial , agriculture and urban sewage on the physic-chemical characteristics of water (temperature , transparency , electrical conductivity ,hydrogen ion concentration, chlorosity ,dissolved ,oxygen , biochemical oxygen demand , chemical oxygen demand , biotic oxygen consumption BOD/DO x 100, BOD/COD ratio , ammonia ,nitrite , nitrate ,phosphate , silicate , carbonate and bicarbonate alkalinity and heavy metals ).
The water samples were collected from six stations from surface and bottom layer .the investigation revealed that ,this area is subjected to pollution specially at station I,II and from the comparison study it show that by the time the pollution increase .
So, we recommended trying to protect the river and other aquatic life in it from the destruction by drainage water loaded with agriculture and industrial pollution as well as sewage by treatment of the drainage water discharge into the river .
