Abstract The present study comprised 20 control subjects and 50 patients having acute myocardial infarction. Patients were grouped according to size of infarction into 20 patients (GI) having small infarction and 30 patients (Gil) having large infarction. Group I was subdivided into 10 patients (GIA) having small infarction with normal LVM /h index and 10 patients (GIB) having small infarction with increased LVM /h index Group II was subdivided into 10 patients (GIIA) having large infarction with normal LVM /h index and 20 patients (GlIB) having large infarction with increased LVM /h index. All subjects in this study were subjected to complete history taking, clinical examination, 12 lead surface ECG, serum enzymes (CPK - LIID) and mitral flow study by Doppler - echocardiography. In this study all diastolic filling parameters were altered in patients compared to control inspite of absence of statistically significant difference while in subgrouping of patients the results becomes sharply defined than in control. Doppler frndings in patients with small infarction were that of abnormal relaxation pattern ( decreased PEV , increased PAV , decreased E/AR, decreased CE/AR, increased PHT , increased PT). |
