Abstract This study analysed the history, physical examination radiology, ultrasonographic examination of the 30 patienta managed by cholecystectomy. It has been found that acalculous biliary disease must be accepted as an integral part of the problem of biliary tract pathology* It has been found that the symptoms of acalonlous gall bladder disease do not differ in any significant way from those of calculoua disease, and it is not possible in every case to come to a firm conclusion about the abscence or presence of stones pre-operatively Biliary pain is the most common symptom of gall bladder disease, cholecystectomy relieves the pain in nearly all cases* Flatulence is a presenting feature in the majority but not in all cases of gall bladder disease. Cholecygtectomy ia followed by symptomatic relief in a great percentage, but still a considerable proportion do not improve by cholecystectomy. It is difficult for chronic gall bladder disease to form a homogenous clinical and/or radiological findings that can be used as a clinical picture pattern matching, for daugnosing gall bladder diseases, while mucoceles of |
