Abstract Intrauterine contraceptive devices (JUDs) is widely used for contraception. It is cheep. can be used for long period with minimal medical care, highly effective, dose not interfere with lactation and is reversible ( Sivin. 1990). The main action of IUD is sterile inflammatory response which include morphological, physiological and biochemical changes in the endometrium and uterine fluid (Johannisson, 1987). Cvtokines are well known as products of macrophages. monocvtes and lymphocytes which play a key role in the initiation of inflammatory response. The aim of this work is to study serum interleukin-6 level In women using different types of intrauterine contraceptive devices (Lippes. Copper T3SOA & Nova T) for different periods of time.
