Abstract The surgi cat repair and reconstr ucti on of anteri or Puciate ligament- continue to challenge the surg@oyiy rthroscopic and open surgical technique have become more Jrecise and the use of tendon substitutes has made surgery a successful. It is apparent at this time from the searsh that is under way that the following will occure in future : - More anterior cruciate ligament surgery will be performed I- Surgical technique will have less morbidity Weight bear!ng, range of moti on. and strengthen!ng wi11 be as immediate. ^Return to work and sports will be much earlier. Rehabilitation will be greatly simplified. New prosthetic and/^or augminted biological material and technology wi11 be de-veloped. - The prevention of rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament will occupy more of research effort. It can be summriserd their surgical procedures of rior cruciate reconstruction as infra-articular ra-ar ti cut ar or combi ned pr ocedure, usi ng autogr aft or theft c materials.
