Abstract Psychiatric examination and psychometric evaluation of physical1y handicapped children showed the following : Higher incidence of neurotic traits such as poor appetite, enuresis, nail biting, thumb sucking, fainting attacks phobias and shyness They showeda decrease in the incidence of avert aggressiveness They displayed a higher tendency to disobedience, lying and uncooperativeness which could be considered as an indirect expression o± anxiety and hostility Their scholastic achievemeit was less than the control group both arithmatic and Arabic Language They showed various distruhances in the personality development and in social adjustment and they scored less than the control group in self reliance, personal adjustment and in acquision of social skills Their physical conduct also affected adversly their social relation; family relation, community relation, social and general adjustment, sense of belonging, sense of personal orth The physically handicapped children showed higher incidence |
